Links are questions and answers in a advice column format. These will be general questions regarding pets’ health and well being – not medical problems. PAWS has been given a grant from PetSmart which will provide financial incentives to people willing to open their homes to foster animals. PAWS is also in need of individuals to assist in assembling pens, etc. for these foster homes. Donations of time or money are gladly accepted. The grant money will not last forever and in order to continue this important program we must have funds with which to continue it. PAWS (People for Animal Welfare in the South) is urgently in need of foster families for abandoned animals, particularly dogs. PAWS is now licensed to adopt through PETSMART in Dothan. Dogs that have lost their homes are disoriented and confused. It is important that they be cared for by loving, understanding families in order for these dogs to regain their equilibrium. Relaxed and outgoing dogs and cats are much more likely to be adopted. You must have a kennel/dog run or a fenced yard. These are required for canine foster homes by the Department of Agriculture. You are needed now to help these animals find stable, permanent homes. Anyone wishing to foster a pet should have patience and gentleness and let them adjust in their own way and time.
